Summary/Abstract: In this article I am looking into the phenomenon of boundaries' blurring and transdisciplinarity in the social sciences. I am particularly interested in the process of a mutual infiltration between humanistic existential psychotherapy, its philosophical approach, models of diagnosis, and a therapeutic process, and interpretative sociology, its assumptions of science, models of doing research, and data analysis. The main question concerns the way of reformulation and renegotiation of the existing boundaries, so that sociology could legitimately take adavantage of Gestalt theory and its applications, both in relation to science and to ethics. To attain this goal, I am investigating ontology, epistemology and metodology of these two disciplines, its similarities and differences, and drawing conclusions for the application in the research process of sociology (conceptualization, research field work, data analysis).
