Summary/Abstract: Today's liberalism that goes along individual freedom, the rule of law, constitutionally constrained government and free market economy is not much different from its classical predecessor. The significant improvement in economic freedom is the only way to reach economic prosperity. Prosperity cannot be produced by political means. Political means are equal to statism and that perpetrates the power of bureaucracy over economy, what again leads to poverty and political serfdom. Serbia is at the very end of world rankings in economic freedom, and until it stays there, it will be a poor country. The article offers a lot of examples of poor economic and other policies by the Serbian government after getting rid of Milosevic.
