Summary/Abstract: The author describes the situation in Romania in the aftermath of the country’s occupation by the Red Army. Internal and international events are referred to: the coup de état on 23 August 1944, the organization of the National Democratic Front (controlled by the communists) in Romania, the Yalta Conference. The presence of the Russian troops in Romania developed into a pressure factor and the political power was taken over by the Communist Party.
