Summary/Abstract: The evolution of the Romanian Communist Party is presented here, from the participation in, to its taking control over the government. The positions and differences in opinion of the Romanian communist leaders are presented in detail as to the directions to pursue and type of relationships with the "bourgeois" political parties. The Stalinist model in the sovietization of Romania is analyzed on the background of the events in eastern Europe.
