Summary/Abstract: The virtual environment, represented mainly by social media, is being used more and more frequently and aggressively as a space for a new type of war, which uses information as a weapon. This essential change in the way war is conducted poses a considerable challenge to a democratic society, which must develop appropriate responses to the threats it faces, usually generated by an undeclared and especially invisible enemy.
