Summary/Abstract: The books banned in Romania are presented. The list includes books which contradict the newly installed power in Romania, the authors of which were renowned for their anticommunist political activity or for their monarchic convictions. Another category is represented by the history and geography books, and the school textbooks published prior to 1947. The list also includes authors resettled abroad, especially after 1965. In such cases, all the respective author’s books were indiscriminately transferred to the secret book fund.
