Bibliometric Analysis of Local Academic Journals in the Field of Language and Literature in Wos and Scopus Citation Databases

Summary/Abstract: Bibliometric research is based on quantitative analysis of scientific work, which involves measuring all statistically significant information. Today, citation analysis is the most frequently used tool for evaluating scientific research work, measuring the influence of scientists, but also journals and entire institutions. The paper will investigate and analyse the data on citations of five local academic journals in the field of literature and language, in WoS and Scopus citation databases. In addition to insight into the total number of cited papers from selected journals by year (2012–2021), the aim was to gain insight into where the authors who cite these papers come from, and what language they write in. Based on the obtained data, a picture of the current state of things will be obtained. and conclusions will be drawn regarding the increase in citations of scientific journals in Serbia.
