Summary/Abstract: Art collections have always represented the aesthetic cultural background of a nation, and this text makes a brief incursion into the history of Romanian collecting and reveals, at the same time, the role and contribution of the art collector Krikor H. Zambaccian to the construction and foundation of the artistic heritage. The painter Th. Pallady occupied a privileged place in the collection of Krikor H. Zambaccian, but also in his life, between the artist and the collector there being a beautiful friendship evoked in the correspondence, notes and biographical accounts of the two.
