Summary/Abstract: Gabriela Cabezón Cámara’s prose appears on the horizon of contemporary Argentine narrative as a rupture, a subversion, a shock, challenging canonical literary traditions and reconfiguring established norms. From this new aesthetic, that we will call “la gauchita” after María Moreno, very particular subjectivities are born: disobedient, marginal, powerful, fluid and non-binary. The subjectivity of the protagonist in Romance de la Negra Rubia by Gabriela Cabezón Cámara is configured as a tangle of various discourses, relationships (also violent) and in a constant process of construction. These courses are inevitably linked to corporeality: the body, as a “surface of the inscription of events” (Foucault 1983) and a place where symbolic processes take place, therefore, it becomes a space of struggle for power. Following the methodological lines of biopolitical (Foucault 2014, Agamben 1998, Mbembe 2011), feminist (Butler 2002, 2007) and deconstructionist (Derrida 1989) theories, an attempt will be made to investigate how discourses and language act in the process of establishment of the subjectivity of the protagonist. Likewise, we will analyze how the presence of the other invades this process and directs it, which also ends up in founding the relationships of submission and oppression. These figures of otherness, incarnations of colonial and phalologocentric discourses, however, finally allow zoé bodies (Agamben 1998) to enter the sphere of power, of bio-lives.
