Summary/Abstract: The present article sets itself the task of showing word formation patterns of new words in written youth language with their specific functions and providing reasons for the new ways of formation. In contrast to our natural way of dealing with the spoken language, when it comes to written texts, we are often suddenly afraid of making spelling or grammatical mistakes, or of not linking sentences correctly, but communication via the Internet, which is becoming more and more important, gives us a way to bridge this fear. It turns out that the language of young people is characterized above all by changes and abbreviations. In this way, new word formations have emerged that are used in written communication and are marked stylistically rather than referentially. The most important task of youth language is to concisely name things. Although it may not seem transparent enough for everyone, it still leaves room for play and creativity in using the language. It's about a specific lexis, about a certain way of forming words.
