Summary/Abstract: Part two of this study on the beginning of the repression in Romania deals with the reeducation phenomenon of Pitești. The reeducation of the rebel Romanian youth was conducted during the time of the,' maximum repression applied against resistance groups in the mountains of România. Numerous battalions of the Securitate (political police) were called up to terminate the "bandits and Fascists," the same way the torturers educated by the Securitate applied the Bolshevik terror against the youth. This study is an interdisciplinary approach to the reeducation phenomenon, which is compared to the one used in the Soviet Gulag.
