Summary/Abstract: Automobile folklore is an urban folklore consisting of stickers on the bumpers of automobile. The change in automobile folklore in the framework of dromomyth has been examined. We may examine the modern myths we come across in the process of constructing meaning between man and technology in urbanization according to the dromology theory. Data were gathered from two separate periods using the longitudinal research approach in order to reveal the dromo-mythical contextual structure at the intersection of technology, urbanization, modernization, and folklore. The four roles of folklore identified by William Bascom were used to qualitatively examine automotive writings that the researcher had gathered in Izmir traffic between 2004 - 2008 and 2014 - 2018 with ten-year intervals. Furthermore, by partitioning the data into unigram, bigram, and trigram using the text mining tokenization technique known as n-gram, commonly used words and significant brands were obtained, and usage frequencies were examined. Significant differences exist between the studies of the folklorists who conducted the early studies in this topic as well as between the times within the study itself. The results illustrate that while the third generation or the grandchildren of those who immigrated to the city during the urbanization process are now economically and culturally integrated into the city, automobile writings have started to decline and left their places to symbolic uses due to the increase in self-expression channels like social media. The transition from texts to symbols and from trucks to recognizable iconic brands demonstrates how vehicle folklore endures within the new era’s temporal and spatial constraints.
