Summary/Abstract: The names and addresses of the war criminals tried by the People’s Courts in Bucharest and Cluj do not just make up a list of 657 sentenced persons, but they include an analysis of the “justice” done by the People’s Courts between 1945 and 1947. This list displays the Soviet criteria applied by the people’s justice to various persons, from former cabinet ministers and newspaper editors to ordinary workers.
