Summary/Abstract: In 1961 Gheorghe Nițu from Craiova sent a memorandum in which he showed his merits from August 23-24, 1944 when he was in the Sulina Maritime Detachment. He thinks of himself being the main character in stopping a German fleet of 22 ships from entering the Sulina Channel. He acted against his superiors, took the initiative, personally led it and repulsed German ships in the Black Sea. Unfortunately, the archive documents did not retain Nițu's deeds of bravery.
