PİYANO DÜETLERİ VE PİYANO ENSEMBLE KONUSUNDA YURTİÇİNDE VE YURTDIŞINDA YAPILAN ÇALIŞMALARIN İNCELENMESİ
AN EXAMINATION OF STUDIES CONDUCTED IN TURKEY AND FOREIGN COUNTRIES ON PIANO DUET AND PIANO ENSEMBLE

Summary/Abstract: Duet and ensemble studies, which enable more than one person to perform together on the piano, offer students and pianists opportunities related to unity that they cannot obtain in solo studies. The first contributions that come to mind include listening, sharing the keyboard, creating a common language, working together, and getting to know a different repertoire. It is observed that students who have previously progressed in solo piano face a different repertoire when they study four-hand works, improve their association skills, and enjoy studying the piano more. The increase in the number of studies on this subject has led to the need to regularly present information about their content by examining and classifying them. For this purpose, research published abroad and in Turkey on the subject of duet, duo, four-hand, and piano ensemble were examined. The document review method reveals piano studies education's contribution to the young, and results achieved in terms of literature were evaluated. According to the data obtained in the research, it has been seen that the number of overseas case studies is much higher than those conducted in our country and that they go back far; on the other hand, studies carried out in our country have been conducted recently and are small in number. In addition, it has been seen that the studies carried out in our country are aimed at the initial level of piano education. In addition to all these, it has been learned that a very large part of the studies carried out, whether they are of foreign or domestic origin, have been carried out for descriptive purposes regarding the benefits of duet and ensemble studies for piano education.
