Summary/Abstract: The National Music and Theater Academy Bill was accepted at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in 1934. The bill included a plan to create an institution called The State Music Conservatory and Academy of Theatre encompassing all music branches. For this purpose, Cevat Dursunoğlu (1892-1970) who was on duty in Berlin at the time, was asked to find an expert for consultation during the realization of the bill and in 1935, an agreement was reached with the renowned German composer Paul Hindemith (1895-1963). Under this agreement, Hindemath visited Turkey three times between the years of 1935-1937 and presented detailed reports of his observations to the Ankara government. This work focuses on Hindemith's observations and reports that has greatly contributed to Turkey's music culture. For the first part, Germany and Turkey of the time is given at a glance, and then the details of the efforts towards Hindemith's procurement to Turkey is explained. Following the composer's life story before he came to Turkey provided as a general outline, the contents of Hindemith's reports are included in the last part.
