Summary/Abstract: The Report of the Bucharest Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior, published by Florentin Breazu, shows how the Romanian repression machinery applied the instructions from the capital of the communist camp, without reforming or in any way altering its functioning. The Securitate people were still focusing on repression measures while also insisting on the need for a closer cooperation with the party apparatus.
