Summary/Abstract: All works of art have been evaluated using various critical and examination methods to the present day. The theory of semiotics emerged on the agenda in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In 1890 Edmund Husser wrote a review titled "on the logic of the indicators (semiotics) that was published in 1970, mentioning about the theory of indicators. It is seen in the examination that the theory of linguistic indicators is developed. In the modern sense, many philosophers, logicists and scientists conducting research in different disciplines have investigated the semiotics. The artistic language is a means of communication such as natural language that can describe any phenomenon and content. Semiotic methods are also used to analyze and examine an artwork beyond linguistic analysis. In this context, it allows the works of art to be objectively and consistently reviewed. The semiotic methods reveal the concealed meanings of the artworks as well as displaying their visible qualities. In this study, Frida Kahlo's work “The Two Fridas” was examined through semiotic methods, and it was examined in terms of denotatation, connototation, form and content qualities. As a result of semiotic analysis, the meanings in which the meanings hidden in the images in The Two Fridas, which is a multi-joint and complex art work, were obtained. Thanks to the semiotics method that provides safe and objective ways, symbolic expressions that reflect the experiences and spiritual turmoil of Frida Kahlo on the work can be revealed and interpreted.
