Summary/Abstract: The means and techniques of the power transfer operated between 1965 and 1969 to be benefit of Nicolae Ceausescu had a major role in outlining the future profile of the regime the latter headed until 1989. The new power mechanisms actuated on the occasion functioned the same way also while Ceausescu, exerted absolute control over the party and state bodies. Most of the developments with respect to political rhetoric and the management of the political and state machinery after 1969 actually represented cosmetic changes. Consequently, the period 1965-1969 can be considered, despite the public perception that it was a time when political control over the Romanian society relaxed, the basic moment in the building of the neo-Stalinist model the Ceausescu regime represented.
