Summary/Abstract: The end of the Cold Ward should not be considered as unavoidable although we tend to believe so. International relations followed a certain course after 1983 and history should have been different without Gorbachev, Reagan, Bush or Kohl. This study analyses the role of internal and external factors in the collapse of Communism.
