Summary/Abstract: With radical, lucid, tense characters, in an antinomic position in relation to a universe of crisis and tragedy, characters marked by the obsession of truth, by successive alienations and conquests of the self, with documented and problematizing epic texts, Augustin Buzura is an important landmark of contemporary Romanian prose. The inner architecture of the novels, the outline of the characters' destinies, the ethical tension and the analytical poignancy are the dominant features of the epic universe
