Summary/Abstract: Our research looked at the impact of training in finance and economics. The results suggest that teachers who have received training differ significantly in many respects from those who have not. Most of the teachers surveyed (N=705) had applied for the training because of their own interest. Teachers who have attended training have significantly better financial literacy and knowledge. They are more confident and knowledgeable about finance and have higher levels of financial inclusion. They have more confidence in financial institutions and consider their pedagogical work more successful and important than those who have not attended such training. Despite their higher levels of knowledge and confidence, those who take part in training are even more risk-averse and cautious than other teachers. This also means that the risk-taking patterns needed for entrepreneurial skills are poorly provided in education.
