Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to review a fundamental book for any sociology student. Social scientist Ion Ungureanu, author of the book “The paradigms of Society knowledge”, has organized in an original way the “theoretic core of sociology”: its main paradigms. He argues that sociology is a multi-paradigmatic science. Sociology does not have a universal paradigm, but several paradigms are competing for hegemony. The Romanian sociologist establishes the main fields of study: the constitution, organization, change and evolution of society. Although synthetic, the book is a vast one, and the review will be limited to the presentation of the links between sociological paradigms. Each paradigm has a scientific potential, and from this point of view, Ion Ungureanu's work can reopen old fields of research in Romanian sociology.
