Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to a very important problem of not only contemporary Ukraine but also whole Europe. The Russian-Ukrainian war that is still going on in Donbas gradually reveals its more and more dark sides. The study presents memoirs of Stanislav Asieiev who was the prisoner of so-called Donetsk Dachau – a concentration camp in the city, organized by occupation forces. The author of the article analyzes this traumatic experience in the context of the current war as well as in the context of history concentration camps such as GULAG, Nazi death camps and so on. In the center of the study there is an image of a broken individual and his efforts to re-find himself in the world without war while it is still going on in his mind and feelings.
