Tasks of the Local Government Administration in the Field of Security and Public Order – Selected Issues

Summary/Abstract: Security and public order are the basic values needed for the proper functioning of the state and the development of society. ensuring these values belongs to public authorities (govern- ment and local government). the role of local government administration is to ensure the safe life of the local community that lives in a given commune, poviat or voivodeship. one of the factors determining such a activity is the implementation of statutory tasks imposed on the local govern- ment regarding safety and public order and shaping safe spaces. it makes these through spatial development plans taking into account the public space charter. the study discusses only selected tasks imposed by law and implemented by local government in the field of local community secu- rity. the sense of security of a given community results from the professional implementation of statutory tasks in this respect on the local government.
