Summary/Abstract: Control of management of the insurance communities is a wide and complicated area. It is particularly complex due to a series of specificities which are not to be found in any other field of economy. The efficiency of outside control in the sphere of basic elements of business of insurers is rather small in scope. However, this is only natural, since its task is determined within the society, and since our society opted for developing the self-management type of socialism, the competence of managing transactions and resources of insurance is transferred to the self-managing bodies of the insured persons. It follows from the above that the „control” over the management in the area of insurance is situated within the jurisdiction of the insured persons’ bodies. The only way of intensifying the control is the strengthening and further development of management the insured persons. Since there exist great relatedness and economic dependency between the insurers, not only within the country, but on international level, too, it is necessary to effect coordination, through the management bodies, of specific elements of doing business, which refers both to the insured subjects and the communities of insurance and their business transactions. That coordination would contribute to increased safety in business, meaning that every insurance community should be able to honour all its duties according to the insurance contracts.
