What competencies should a modern career counsellor in the educational system have in accordance of the changing reality?

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to create a competency profile of a career counsellor working in the educational system. The structure of professional counselling and the tasks of a professional counsellor under the provisions of educational law are presented. Based on personal experience and a review of the literature on the subject, an attempt was made, on the one hand, to show the range of tasks of the counsellor, on the other hand, to reflect on what skills a person providing counselling support should have.
