Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to show the socio-cultural changes affecting education. Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature, the issues of emancipation, the model of civilization, the identity of the individual, time and space, as well as work and interpersonal relations are shown. They are relevant to educational activities aimed at shaping a student ready to function in a constantly changing reality. The repercussions of socio-cultural changes make it necessary for students to be able to form their own identity and to develop a sense of civic identity, to be accepted, to have the opportunity to externalize their own values, to seek and discover their own individuality. In the course of education, a student should be prepared to overcome imposed limitations, and eventually improve the reality in which he has come to live. All this requires constant activity, lifelong learning and conscious self-improvement.
