Summary/Abstract: “Schizophrenia is a disease of information” – this is how a patient refers to his experienceof the disease, quoted in Valentina Cardella’s Language and Schizophrenia: Perspectivesfrom Psychology and Philosophy. This text applies this description to the model of themarket language provided by the efficient-market hypothesis. Against its esteemedauthors, Olesik treats this hypothesis as a diagnosis of the schizophrenia of the globalaccumulation regime, formulated in the language of delusion. Olesik presents theefficient markets hypothesis as a representation theory with the same status as therepresentation theory based on the notion of divine nerve rays presented in Daniel PaulSchreber’s Memoirs of My Nervous Illness, while the conceptual construction of marketinformation will emerge as both the functional and structural equivalent of the languageof nerves.
