Summary/Abstract: Persons deprived of their liberty enjoy rights and rewards, but must also be subject to the obligations and prohibitions provided by law. The right to information, understood as the right of access to information of public interest, also belongs to the category of rights enjoyed by persons deprived of their liberty. Internally, it has been ruled that the means of access to information of public interest are limited in the case of these persons. In this article we will analyze the limitation of access to information of persons deprived of liberty, in particular the following aspects: limiting access to information about the pandemic caused by coronavirus, the violation of rights in the relationship right to information-right to rest, admissibility of the “retroactive” and “collective” damage to the right of access to information on television programs, access to information of personal interest. The issues under analysis are current and are based on domestic jurisprudence through which the general rules on access to information of public interest of persons deprived of their liberty are drawn.
