Summary/Abstract: Ivan Kamburov (1883 – 1955) was a famous Bulgarian musicologist, folklorist, pedagogue and music critic. The article presents his musical and pedagogical approaches, which are based on a more critical view of the responsibilities of the institutions, family and the state for the implementation of musical-pedagogical interaction. The basic principles of the musical-educational process are presented, as well as some extremely innovative standards for musical erudition, discussed in the first part of his book “Music and People”.
