The Documentary Legacy of Panka Pelishek (1899 – 1990): Analytical Notes

Summary/Abstract: This report examines analytically the documentary legacy of the Bulgarian pianist Panka Pelishek (1899 – 1997). She is one of the iconic names of the National Academy of Music and the Bulgarian Piano School from the last century. The report is part of a study on the pianist’s personal archive, which is stored in the house museum “Pancho Vladigerov”. The text discusses and analyzes the information in some creative documents and comments some aspects of preserving the pianist’s documentary heritage. The goal is to shed more light on the complex creative expression of the pianist and her remarkable presence in the intellectual elite of the Bulgarian culture of the last century.
