Intellectual elites of the Great Union generation. Scenes from the history of Robu and Coțioi families

Summary/Abstract: Living on the edge of the 19–20th centuries, the intellectual elites of the Great Union generation created a system of professional, kinship and friendship relationships. It was destined to the members of the Robu and Coțioi families to follow their own history. From amongst them, there came notaries, lawyers, doctors, who, through their professional training and their involvement in consolidating the political – administrative structures after the Great Union of 1918, wrote a page of long gone historic times. Meeting in the professional circles, from balls to dancing soirées, led many times to matrimonial alliances. Their traditionalism contributed to forming an intellectual elite that passed on the cultural and spiritual inheritance to the young generations. Models of living and dedication, they contributed to creating an intellectual elite that had a system of high values, built through a lot of hard work and perseverance.
