Summary/Abstract: My present work points out the importance of Constitutional Justice in Romania. Its historical and legal background suggests that the main mission of Constitutional Justice is to ensure the supremacy of the Constitution. The constitution is the supreme law of every state, not just a collection of rules for the entire society, yet it represents the ID of a nation. The supremacy of the Constitution places this important document on the top of the legal pyramid. The Constitutional Court is the main authority ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution and it is formed by judges that verify the entire legal frame to be according to the Constitution, therefore we can name them „guardians of the Constitution”. According to an old saying stating that „ Constitution remains a mere piece of paper if citizens are not vigilant enough to defend it”, every citizen has the duty to protect the Constitution.
