Summary/Abstract: The opus of Enrik Josif, the creator of a distinctive and recognizable style and language, with an original and philosophical view on music, art, creativity and life and with a work that stands at the very top of Serbian music, attracted the author couple Mirjana Belić Koročkin Davidović/Radivoje Davidović to give their two-year research devoted to the life and work of this author and created the monograph Enrico Josif - visions and dreams. The title itself hints at two levels: one that talks about the artist’s life, his perception of reality, social events, surrounded by his life principles, and the other, in which his artistic wishes, visions, beliefs and convictions are sublimated. In three relatively short chapters at the beginning of this book, the authors present the biography of Enrico Josif, and then consider in detail his creativity, his thought and the written word. A significant part of the book is filled with the memories of his contemporaries. Their texts, diverse in type and content - analytical, emotional, experiential, transmitted from various media or written just for this occasion - give a true picture of his personality, creativity, subtle and refined, but also turbulent and powerful action. The authors of this monograph managed to skilfully shape the abundance of texts - both of the composer himself and of his contemporaries about him - and thus create a striking image of a strong personality.
