Summary/Abstract: This article reviews and advances existing literature concerning multi-sensor device data interaction and wearable health monitoring technologies assist emergency care practice and the management of chronic conditions in the medical metaverse. In this research, previous findings were cumulated showing that wearable Internet of Things healthcare systems harness artificial intelligence-based diagnostic algorithms in virtual reality-simulated environments, improving patient experience, and I contribute to the literature by indicating that virtual healthcare and blockchain technologies, diagnostic imaging techniques, and smart healthcare wearable devices are instrumental in 3D virtual environments. Throughout May 2022, a quantitative literature review of the Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest databases was performed, with search terms including “the decentralized and interconnected metaverse” + “wearable healthcare monitoring devices,” “3D medical imaging data,” and “virtualized care systems.” As research published in 2022 was inspected, only 151 articles satisfied the eligibility criteria. By taking out controversial or ambiguous findings (insufficient/irrelevant data), outcomes unsubstantiated by replication, too general material, or studies with nearly identical titles, I selected 29 mainly empirical sources. Data visualization tools: Dimensions (bibliometric mapping) and VOSviewer (layout algorithms). Reporting quality assessment tool: PRISMA. Methodological quality assessment tools include: AXIS, MMAT, ROBIS, and SRDR.
