Summary/Abstract: Selected parts of the official Czech translation of the ,,A Union which sets itself higher aims: my agenda for Europe" programme, with which Ursula von der Leyen successfully applied for the position of President of the European Commission, are now in print. The author declares her pride in the European social market economy and announces efforts to reconcile social and market issues. Among her other aims, Ursula von der Leyen also emphasises in particular the fight against poverty, unemployment and discrimination and efforts to enhance fair taxation.
