Analysis of long-term care social and health services in the Czech Republic

Summary/Abstract: Review of the publication Wija Petr, Bareš Pavel a Jan Žofka: Analýza sociálních a zdravotních služeb dlouhodobé péče v ČR. Based on hard data, the authors of the book attempt to offer a particularly detailed overview of the users and providers of social services and the associated legislative context. The high-level analysis succeeds in providing both a local overview and an international comparison. However, it fails to offer predictions of future developments, recommendations for political leaders or a summary of the analysis as a whole. Nevertheless, the publication provides a valuable contribution to the discussion on the planning and implementation of state social policy.
