Social work provided by local and regional authorities in the form of delegated powers

Summary/Abstract: While social services are provided by local and regional authorities in the framework of their independent jurisdiction, the social work activities of these entities were entrusted to them in the form of delegated powers, i.e. the town halls of municipalities with so-called extended powers, and regional authorities, by means of Act no. 108/2006 Coll., on social services, and municipalities with authorised town halls as well as extended powers via Act no. 111/2006 Coll., on assistance for those in material distress, as amended. The system is based on the "mixed territorial administration" model.
