Social policy in 2016 - new challenges in uncertain times

Summary/Abstract: Modern society rightly expects social policy and related instruments, including, inter alia, social work, to provide the assumptions, conditions, impulses and motivation required for the development of individual citizens, and thus for the prosperity of society as a whole. Public expectations with respect to social policy will grow as the extent of social risk increases in what many are currently considering a period of uncertainty. These risks must be perceived by experts not only as a threat but also as an opportunity. In this context, the University of Economics, Prague will host a meeting of distinguished experts on such issues on 24 November 2016 in the framework of the International Social Policy Working Conference 2016 - new challenges in uncertain times.
