Summary/Abstract: On 26 May 2016 an international workshop entitled the "Employment of older people in the Czech Republic and a comparison with the EU" was held at the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Mendel University, Brno in the context of the two-year Gender Dimension Implementation of Active Ageing in the Czech Private and Public Sectors in Comparison with Western Countries project, funded by the COST Action IS1409 programme (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). The aim of the project is, on the basis of international cooperation in the framework of the approved ISCH COST Action IS1409 programme, to enhance scientific knowledge concerning the importance of the gender dimension with respect to implementing and promoting active ageing, in particular with regard to the economic wellbeing of ageing workers in the Czech private and public sectors in comparison with Western countries. The emphasis of the project is on fostering international cooperation with research institutes in COST member states.
