The "Peaceful Dying" conference

Summary/Abstract: The Czech Association of Social Services has joined a project entitled "The Development of Geriatric and Palliative Care in Residential Social Services" financed from the Implementation of Swiss-Czech Cooperation Programme. The main objective of the project consists of the introduction of palliative care to residential social services in such a way that those receiving care are allowed a dignified departure from life in an environment to which they are accustomed and where they have already lived for several years. Cooperation with Swiss partners has provided a number of new insights into Swiss best practice in this area and the sophisticated palliative care system available in Switzerland. One of the various events which took place under the auspices of the project consisted of a conference entitled "Peaceful dying" which took place on 4 May 2016 in Liberec with the participation of Swiss palliative care experts.
