Summary/Abstract: This paper represents an empirical research based on one of the keywords’ colloca-tors, a symbol of Covid pandemics, namely the mask. The research question is: which are the verbs that collocate with this keyword, specific to pandemics? The linguistics analysis of 187 verbs using the co-occurrence analysis provided by COSMAS II, takes place both on the morphological and syntactic, and phraseological levels. It has been shown that the verbs that collocate with this noun in the corpus are verbs derived with prefixes. From a syntactical point of view, the analyzed noun occurs, in most of the cases, having the function of the object and prepositional object. The phraseological analysis of word combinations with the noun mask has shown not only a meaning change of the existent phraseologies, but also the appearance of new collocations, specific to the usage of the analyzed noun during the pandemics. The collocations are analyzed from the Romanian native speakers’ perspective who learn the German language as a second language.
