Summary/Abstract: A study, analysis and summary was made to determine the global risks, natural and anthropogenic disasters for the Republic of Bulgaria and the North-Eastern planning region. The most likely global risks are: economic environmental risk, geopolitical, societal and technological risks. The most frequently occurring disaster situations in the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 1990-2014 are: floods - 47.4%, extreme temperatures - 21.1%, storms - 10.5%, forest fires - 10.5%, earthquakes - 7.9%, droughts – 2.6%. The main risks for the North-East planning region in the Republic of Bulgaria are extreme temperatures, floods, transport and industrial accidents.
