Summary/Abstract: Media law and ethics are immensely significant for journalism as a profession because they regulate the space of social action, freedom of speech, and human rights, and it is particularly important to emphasize the legal and ethical responsibility of the media towards the public. Through the dimension of media law, we can also observe the contemporary definition of media views today, their interests, media freedom, and objective public information. In this context, it is important to emphasize the regulation of the media industry which can be achieved by utilizing the media law. This legal area regulates freedom of speech, press, media ethics, censorship, advertising, print media, electronic media, as well as court rulings on claims. Journalists’ adherence to professional standards, with respect to ethical principles and the laws and regulations governing the media realm, contribute to the professional and responsible work of the media. Bosnia and Herzegovina has well-written laws that regulate freedom of speech, so it is important to ensure unyielding implementation of regulations, but it is also necessary to analyze what can be further improved in this area.
