Summary/Abstract: The article describes the main points of social entrepreneurship. The development of social entrepreneurship is examined, its essence and concept are analyzed, its functions and characteristics of social enterprises are defined, a developed and advanced classification of types of social entrepreneurship is presented. Three approaches to the concept of "social entrepreneurship" are highlighted. The authors examine the stages of formation and the current state of social entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan.
