Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the risk management process in the field of customs control and its separate stages. The essence of the concept of „risk“ is studied, as well as its manifestations. The conclusion is that the risk management in the customs area is of paramount importance as a guarantee for the security and safety of the EU's external borders.
