Summary/Abstract: In this study, a theoretical analysis of the basic concepts illustrating structural changes was performed. The economy is a complex system and changes in its individual elements or subsystems lead to changes in others (i.e. the parts/sectors are in some dependence) and changes in some of them lead to further changes in the structure of this system and the results of it. One of the important characteristics of the economic system is its structure, illustrating the subordination of its constituent elements and the strength and stability of the links between them. Therefore, the study of structural changes in the economies is particularly important because it is related to macroeconomic policy, and hence to the opportunities for economic growth of the economy. Changes in the relative shares of individual sectors in the economy should be analyzed in detail, and not ignored by the analysis, because with its help it is possible to achieve structural improvement of the economy and to use the potential for growth, as well as to optimize economic policy. The dynamics of basic economic indicators illustrating the development and transformation of economies can be done through the presented in the development of linear and quadratic coefficients of absolute and relative structural changes, index of differences, index of relative structure, entropy coefficient of non-uniformity, integral coefficient of structural changes and others.
