Analysis of the Lexical Difficulties and Features in the Translation of “Ballad of the Lost Mountains” by Danilo Manera

Summary/Abstract: The current work focuses on the novel “Ballad of the Lost Mountains” (Ballata delle montagne perdute) by the Italian author Danilo Manera and the lexical challenges present in the text when translated into Bulgarian. The scope of the thesis is to study solely the lexical issues in order to be able to present a more detailed analysis. Some of them include anagrams, realia from different languages, rendering proper nouns, song translation, word play and illustration of instances of work with the author.
