Summary/Abstract: For the expertise, as the most important and appreciated characteristic of a good speaker, it can be said that it is still as important today as in ancient times. Cicero said that a good speaker must be wise, possess broad knowledge and a high level of general culture. Contemporary authors also emphasise the importance of expertise, competence and knowledge, as primary ones with addition to some specific determinants such as persuasion, honour and charisma. The aim of this research was to determine how the concept of charisma is perceived by students, how they define it and which public figures they perceive as charismatic. Students were selected from the Public Relations and Media Studies, where public relations experts are educated, made aware and trained to recognize even the smallest traces of exceptional charismatic gifts in each individual.
